Fish Bits are an award-winning restaurant based in Doncaster. Fish & Chips have passed through three generations of the Xenofontos family, established in 1958 in Liverpool.
Our challenge here was to remove the stigma that Fish Bits is only a fish and chip restaurant. We needed to showcase the flavour and quality of the wide variety of food they produce. The images needs to emit the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. Most importantly the photography needed to be vibrant and create instant appeal when used across digital marketing platforms.

We used a 0-45° camera angle to include a view of the restaurant behind the dishes, but used a narrow depth of field to make sure that the food remained the clear focus of the image. We shot all the dishes from a seasonal menu and combined this with top-down style imagery with people in them to give a real sense of the experience of dining at Fish Bits. We used our full experience of food photography and where appropriate we had to take multiple layered shots of dishes being assembled to achieve the perfect final image.
We provided Fish Bits with a suite of photographs which have gone on to be used throughout their marketing collateral. They now have a bank of images to use on their digital platforms which encourage both online and telephone orders as well as table bookings.
