DB Cargo UK is the UK's largest rail freight company. DB operate trains across the UK transporting everything from cereals to coal, barbecues to biomass, and petroleum to steel.
As the UK leader in a tough and competitive employer's market, DB Cargo UK commissioned us to create a new internal communications strategy. The brief was to create new internal graphics and vinyls as well as develop a tone of voice and produce photography that resonated with current employees. We were made aware that DB Cargo UK wanted to create something which empowered their employees and made them proud.
The best way to help your company to perform better is to keep your employees engaged. Communication within your business is equally if not more important than external communication.
We worked extremely closely with the Head of Communications to create a clear internal comms strategy. This involved repositioning their tone of voice, brand promise and values in an internal communications 'bible'. We combined this content with original photography of employees to create internal DB branded graphics which could be rolled out across multiple sites and depots across the UK. Finally, we advised that certain areas on site should be repainted in "DB Red" to ensure complete brand consistency.
To comprehensively roll out the strategy, we worked closely alongside DB Cargo and our signage installer to ensure the site had been fully appraised and the created artwork was appropriate. Following the installation of the graphics and materials, we have received great feedback from the client and we have continued to review the strategy on an ongoing basis.
