For the past eight years, the Transform Awards Europe has recognised excellence and rewarded innovation in branding across Europe. The awards honour brand development and rebranding projects from companies of all sizes, in both local and global markets.
The work with British Steel has resulted in being shortlisted for five awards in the following categories:
- 'Best visual identity in the industrial/basic materials sector’
- 'Best rebrand of a digital property’
- 'Best brand evolution’
- 'Best implementation of a brand development project’
- 'Best internal communications during a brand development project’
The remaining two nominations are for work with Play Valley – South Yorkshire’s newest indoor play centre. Located in the heart of the Dearne Valley and covering Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster, which aims to be the number one location for children’s soft play. The shortlisted award categories are:
- 'Best visual identity in the travel, leisure and tourism sector’
- 'Best wayfinding or signage'
Liz Brown, Communications Specialist – Brand and Digital Media, British Steel, said: “A lot of people worked very hard to create and implement our new brand. It captures everything we stand for – pride, passion and performance – and has been very well received.
“Our new logo was recognised by Design Week as one that defined 2016 and now we hope to build on that. Being shortlisted for all 5 of our entries is fantastic recognition of the effort and dedication put in by many in tight and demanding timescales. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved and being shortlisted for these awards is the icing on the cake.”
Simon Jesson, owner of Play Valley, said: “Moirae Creative Agency have followed through on all of our agreed objectives and we are constantly benefiting from their proactive thinking. Winning awards was something David always said was achievable with our dynamic brand and us getting shortlisted for European award is just the first step on the ladder. We’re really delighted about this! Moirae have been well worth the investment, they are a major contributor and factor in our business success.”
Our very own MD, David had a bit to say: “It’s really quite something to get listed for 7 awards this year. The team have worked tirelessly on these two very different projects.
“Play Valley was and still is a great brand to work on, it shows we as an agency can work with a brand from concept to completion. It really does encompass our motto of “We start with a sketch and you end it with a smile!” as this is exactly what happened! It’s not only an imaginative logo and brand, but the whole marketing campaign we have produced has seen Play Valley really take off.”
On British Steel:
“As the British Steel brand unfolded we worked closely with the team at Ruddocks to ensure it translated accurately across the digital platform. We are delighted to once again be on the shortlist at the Transform Awards, and this year with an impressive haul of 7 awards nominations!”
Andrew Thomas, Publishing Editor of Transform Magazine commented: "This year has seen a tremendous increase in the number of entries. We were an astonishing 35% up from last year, and the calibre of entry commensurately increased. The judging was extremely thorough so this year has been a very competitive year to reach the shortlist. It is therefore fantastic to see Moirae Creative reach the shortlist in seven different categories in the prestigious, and increasingly competitive, Transform Awards. Again, congratulations.”.
We've been invited to celebrate the work at the awards ceremony, which takes place in the spring of 2017. Previous winners include Logitech, Tesco, Lloyds Banking Group and TSB.
This follows a successful 2016 for ourselves, with picking up an award in the “Best Visual Identity from the Industrial & Basic Materials Sector Category” at the Transform Awards Europe 2016 for the work with BJS Storage and Distribution. We were also finalists in the Doncaster Chamber awards for Excellence in Marketing Communications & Business Person of the Year.
